The Sports and Youth Affairs Ministry of the Islamic Republic of Iran has expressed a show of solidarity and commitment in response to the recent remarks made by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
Speaking at a mourning ceremony marking the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Reza (AS) in Tehran on Sunday, Ayatollah Khamenei stressed the need to preserve national unity and support the country’s officials, warning that the enemies are seeking to create divisions after failing to defeat Iran through war.
The Leader told thousands of people from various walks of life that “the invincible shield of solidarity between the people, officials, and the Armed Forces must never be undermined.”
Ayatollah Khamenei said the Iranian nation has stood firm against the United States’ insulting demand for submission and will continue to resist with strength.
In response, the Sports and Youth Affairs Ministry issued a statement on Sunday, emphasizing its dedication to upholding the Leader's vision and maintaining the unity of the Iranian nation.
The statement, beginning "In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful," reflects the views of various sports federations and youth NGOs within the ministry. It declares a duty to advance the Supreme Leader's intentions with full resolve.
The statement highlighted the importance of national unity and described it as a "steel shield" — a vital asset essential for protecting and promoting the nation's growth.
The ministry underscored that safeguarding and enhancing this unity is crucial for all generations and segments of Iranian society.
The athletes and youth committed to this cause expressed their determination to resist any forces that seek to divide or undermine national solidarity.
They pledged to significantly strengthen social cohesion and support the Islamic Republic and its leaders, particularly President Ebrahim Raisi.
With a firm commitment to their historical responsibilities, the Sports and Youth Affairs Ministry of Iran reaffirmed its national and religious obligation to preserve the "sacred and great unity of the Iranian nation" and promised to actively participate in this mission, as it has in the past.
