US-Israeli Gaza genocide

Israeli forces are continuing their relentless assault on the Gaza Strip, causing more loss of life and widespread destruction across the aid-deprived territory. At least six Palestinians, all from the same family, were killed in an Israeli airstrike targeting a home in the al-Bureij refugee camp, central Gaza. Four of those were children. In the south, occupation forces struck a tent sheltering displaced civilians in al-Mawasid region, killing at least one person and injuring a baby. To the north and in Gaza City, A school sheltering displaced families in the al-Daraj neighborhood was also hit. The neighborhood has been the focal point of Israeli attacks for the past four days. This comes as the humanitarian situation continues to deteriorate, with more aid seekers targeted by Israeli forces. Since the onset of Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza in October 2023, over 61,800 Palestinians have been killed, and nearly 155,300 others have been injured.

Slamming Netanyahu comments

A coalition of Islamic countries and international bodies has strongly condemned the Israeli prime minister’s recent comments on what he has called the Greater Israel. The coalition consists of 31 Islamic countries as well as representatives of the Arab League, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council. It warned that Benjamin Netanyahu’s comments are a threat to their national security and sovereignty as well as regional stability. The coalition also slammed the remarks as a blatant violation of international law. Israeli officials use the term Greater Israel to refer to an area that extends from parts of Egypt to parts of Jordan and Syria. The coalition also condemned what it called the flagrant assault by Israel on Palestinians’ right to an independent state by its new settlement projects in the West Bank.

Putin-Trump summit

US President Donald Trump says it's ultimately up to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to negotiate a peace deal with Russia. Trump made the comments in an interview after his in-person meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska. He said Russia is a major power, while Ukraine has been relying on US-supplied weaponry. During an earlier joint press conference, Putin said he and Trump had reached an “understanding” on Ukraine. Putin warned Europe not to derail the progress and stressed that any agreement must address Russia's security concerns. Trump also announced plans to consult with NATO leaders and Zelensky, who was not part of Friday’s talks.
