US-Israeli Gaza genocide
Israeli forces continue to massacre more civilians in Gaza, with hungry aid seekers being the main target of their fresh attacks across the besieged territory. Four Palestinians were killed after Israeli airstrikes hit a civilian car and a group of residents in Deir al-Balah, in central Gaza. Earlier, three Palestinians, including a woman, were killed, and many others injured in Israeli strikes across Gaza. Meanwhile, the regime's starvation policy continues to take civilian lives. On Thursday, medical sources said two young men died of hunger, as the territory witnesses a spike in deaths from starvation. Three children also died of malnutrition on the same day. The new fatalities increase the number of deaths from famine and malnutrition since October 2023 to nearly 160, including 90 children. Gaza’s health ministry says more than 80 aid seekers have been killed by Israeli forces over the past 24 hours, increasing total fatalities among people looking for food to more than 1,300. The death toll from Israeli aggression is nearing 60,240, with about 146,900 others injured.
Gaza humanitarian catastrophe
International organizations continue to issue serious warnings about Gaza’s worsening starvation crisis, as more Palestinians fall victim to severe malnutrition. On Thursday, the medical charity, Doctors without Borders, warned of a worsening nutritional crisis among Gaza’s children. It said cases of acute malnutrition among children under five have tripled in recent weeks. MSF added that its teams are now treating around 25 new cases of severe malnutrition every day. It slammed what it called Israel’s systematic campaign of starvation, forced displacement, and relentless military attacks. MSF stressed that the regime has turned Gaza into a daily war zone for civilians, including MSF staff, patients, and even infants. The organization described Gaza’s situation as “catastrophic in every sense.” The UN agency for Palestinian refugees has also sounded the alarm, calling the situation “the worst-case scenario for famine.” UNRWA stressed that only large-scale and sustained aid deliveries can prevent further disaster across the besieged territory.
Israel suicide crisis
The Israeli regime is forming a special committee to investigate the rising rate of suicide among the regime’s soldiers amid the genocidal war on Gaza. The committee is tasked with examining the mental health support provided for discharged troops. The move came after an Israeli reservist, who spent more than 300 days in Gaza, took his own life after observing “horrific scenes” throughout the war. Roi Wasserstein, 24, committed suicide after consistently communicating the atrocities and distressing experiences he had faced in Gaza to his family and friends. Wasserstein's death increased to seven the number of Israeli soldiers who have taken their own lives this month. Since the regime began its genocidal war on Gaza in October 2023, nearly 50 soldiers have committed suicide, seventeen of whom took their own lives during the current year.
