US-Israeli Gaza genocide

Another day of bloodshed in the Gaza Strip as the regime’s forces continue their deadly attacks across the besieged territory. Since dawn, at least 39 Palestinians have been killed, including 19 in northern Gaza. An Israeli strike on a residential building in the Al-Shati refugee camp in Gaza City claimed the lives of at least three Palestinians. In southern Gaza’s Rafah, eight civilians were fatally shot by Israeli forces as they waited for humanitarian aid. Meanwhile, an Israeli airstrike on a vehicle in the al-Mawasi area, near Khan Younis, killed four more Palestinians and wounded several others. According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, Israel’s ongoing war has so far killed over 57,600 people since October 2023.

Netanyahu arrest warrant
The UN special rapporteur on Palestine has taken a swipe at several European governments for providing airspace and safe passage to the Israeli premier, who’s wanted by the International Criminal Court. The criticism by Francesca Albanese was leveled at Italy, France, and Greece. She warned the trio against actions that undermine international legal order. She said the three countries are obliged to arrest Benjamin Netanyahu as they’re all parties to the Rome Statute. The Israeli prime minister flew over the airspace of the European states as he was heading to the US, which is not a party to the ICC. In November 2024, the ICC issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Israel’s former minister of military affairs, Yoav Gallant. Washington has recently sanctioned ICC judges, accusing them of illegitimate actions against Israel and its allies

South Korea-US row

South Korea has rejected calls by the US to increase its spending for a joint military cooperation, insisting it will act based on the existing agreement. South Korea's government says it stands by the current military agreement with the US and will not pay more. The reaction follows statements made by President Donald Trump, who said Seoul has to pay billions more for American troops deployed in the country despite a five-year cost-sharing deal. The tensions come as the US and South Korea are currently engaged in fierce negotiations before Trump’s Tariff on the country comes into effect on August 1.
