Slamming 'politicized' IAEA report

Iran describes as a big lie, a recent report by the International Atomic Energy Agency that accuses the country of non-compliance with its obligations under the safeguards agreement. Iran’s nuclear chief said the report is extremely political and clearly biased, adding that Tehran has always acted voluntarily and shown good faith in its interactions with the IAEA. Mohammad Eslami noted that Tehran has been committed to the NPT safeguards agreement, and there is no single report by the UN nuclear agency’s inspectors to reject that. Eslami said the anti-Iran resolution recently submitted by the US and three European countries at the IAEA Board of Governors is influenced by the Israeli regime. He stressed that Iran will not accept any illegal and illogical behavior regarding its peaceful nuclear program. Eslami also warned that Tehran will take necessary steps if the snapback mechanism is activated against the country.

US-Israel Gaza genocide

Palestinians have woken up to fresh wave of attacks across Gaza as the Israeli military pounds the blockaded territory indiscriminately. Over 30 people were killed after Israeli forces opened fire on Palestinians seeking aid near the Netzarim corridor in central Gaza. A separate strike claimed the lives of several people near a school north of Gaza City. Two civilians were also killed and over a dozen others injured after the Israeli artillery shelled tents of displaced Palestinians in the al-Mawasi refugee camp, near the southern city of Khan Yunis. The Israeli regime has issued new evacuation orders for several areas in northern Gaza, telling their residents to move south. Gaza officials say the US-Israeli genocide has killed nearly 55,000 Palestinians since October 2023, leaving around 127,000 others injured.

US immigration protests

Tensions are rising in Los Angeles as protests against immigration crackdown by the US President continue unabated. On another night of unrest, police in riot gear faced off with protesters. Law enforcement officials say they arrested dozens of demonstrators after the Los Angeles mayor issued a curfew in the city’s downtown. The mayor has said that the curfew was imposed to stop vandalism and looting. Meanwhile, California Governor Gavin Newsom filed an emergency lawsuit to block the National Guard and Marines from being deployed to quell the protests. Newsom has taken a strong stand against what he calls an illegal and dangerous use of military force on the American soil.
