Syria massacre

In Syria, armed forces led by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham leader, Mohammed al-Jolani, execute hundreds of Alawites in their deadliest massacre of religious minorities in the country since seizing power last December. Jolani's forces have reportedly executed over 300 Alawite men, women, and children in Syria’s coastal regions since Thursday. More than 520 people have been killed since clashes erupted on Thursday along Syria’s western coast. The violence followed anti-regime protests in Alawite-majority cities, including Jableh and Latakia. Syria’s new rulers accuse the protesters of loyalty to ousted president Bashar al-Assad. The UN on Friday voiced its concerns over the situation in Syria, warning against actions that could further destabilize the country.

Yemen ultimatum to Israel

Palestinian resistance groups hail an ultimatum set by Yemen’s Ansarullah movement for the Israeli regime to allow humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip. In a statement, Hamas said that the move is a clear demonstration of Yemenis’ solidarity with the Palestinian cause amid ongoing humanitarian crises in the besieged territory. Hamas also urged the international community and the United Nations to take immediate actions to address the violations of humanitarian law by Israel. Meanwhile, the Islamic Jihad Movement also appreciated Yemen's support for Palestine, emphasizing that Yemen's stance sends a strong message that the Palestinian people are not alone. On Friday, the leader of Yemen’s Ansarullah movement gave Israel a four-day ultimatum to abide by its humanitarian commitments under the Gaza ceasefire deal or the group will resume its anti-Israeli naval operations against all shipments bound for Israeli ports.

'Boycott of US goods'

A growing boycott of American products and services is gaining momentum across Canada, fueled by public outrage over US President Donald Trump's escalating trade war with the country. The wave of retail nationalism comes in response to Trump’s aggressive tariff policies, including a 250-percent levy on Canadian dairy products and new duties on lumber exports. In retaliation, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has imposed 20.8 billion dollars in counter-tariffs on US imports. He declared that Canadians will not back down from this fight. From grocery stores to major retailers, consumers and businesses alike are turning away from US goods in favor of Canadian-made alternatives. Meanwhile, Trump has defended the tariffs, accusing Canada of failing to curb drug trafficking and even suggesting that Trudeau was using the crisis to cling to power.
