Israel violations in Lebanon

Israel continues its blatant violations of the fragile ceasefire with Lebanon by conducting fresh strikes on several areas in the southern part of the country. According to Lebanese media, a woman was killed after Israeli forces opened fire towards the southern border town of Hula. Earlier, the regime launched three airstrikes in the Bekaa Valley region in the country's east. Two strikes targeted the outskirts of the town of Harbata, and the third raid hit the town of Halbata, in the north of the Bekaa Valley. The Israeli military claimed it had hit rocket launchers of the Hezbollah resistance movement. The new strikes came just two days before a deadline in the ceasefire agreement, which requires the Israeli army to fully withdraw from southern Lebanon, making way for the Lebanese army and UN peacekeepers to deploy in the area.

Ofer prison attack

Hamas has strongly condemned the brutal attack by Israeli prison guards on Palestinian abductees in Ofer prison. The movement said this barbaric act reflects the fascist and terrorist nature of the occupying regime. Hamas’ statement came after Israeli forces attacked Palestinian abductees in the Ofer prison, west of the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah. They viciously beat the abductees while firing tear gas at them. Hamas said the attack was a continuation of the brutal and sadistic practices used against Palestinian abductees in Israeli jails. It described such measures as a desperate attempt by Israel to restore its image, which has been shattered by the Palestinian people and their resistance. The movement added that inhuman treatment of abductees is part of Israel’s genocidal war against Palestinians, and blatantly violates all international laws and norms. It also called on the UN and humanitarian organizations to fulfill their responsibilities and hold the criminal leaders of Israel accountable for their crimes against humanity.

Rejecting G7 allegations

Iran has categorically rejected the latest accusations raised against Tehran by foreign ministers of the Group of Seven, describing them as baseless and irresponsible. The Foreign Ministry spokesman said accusing Iran of destabilizing actions in the region was ridiculous, when G7 members, including the US, Canada and three European countries, are main supporters of Israel’s genocide. Esmaeil Baghaei underlined Iran's legitimate right to defend its people and sovereignty against any threat and aggression. He said in addition to Iran's national security, the Islamic Republic’s defense capabilities are also meant to protect peace and security in West Asia. Baghaei also touched on Iran's peaceful nuclear program, saying it is being implemented according to the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and the Safeguards Agreement. He said Israel is the only obstacle to a nuclear-weapons-free West Asia region. Baghaei stressed that the regime is threatening international peace and security by developing weapons of mass destruction with the complete support of G7 members.
