In the US capital, Washington DC, federal civil servants held a rally to oppose President Donald Trump's attempt to achieve a constant demand of the elite in Western liberal democracies, the dramatic reduction to the size, scope, and, services, of the central government.
With offers of buyouts first and threats of mass layoffs later, Trump aims to get rid of 10% of the federal workforce.
Trump has already fired top officials brought huge agencies to a standstill, and, encouraged tens of thousands of federal employees to retire early.
We are being maligned as low productivity government workers.
We are anything but; government workers are extraordinarily dedicated, industrious, hard working and mission driven to serve the American people.
So they are attempting to destroy our morale by insulting us, but it's actually not going to work. We are turning out to say that we are strong. We are government workers. We are proud of the work that we do, and we're here to work for the American people.
They're trying to strong arm us and trying to make our jobs miserable so that we resign.
We're not going to do it. We're going to hold the line and not resign.

Just over three weeks into Trump's second term, the Democratic Party seems totally disorganized, but for decades, many have colluded with Republicans to reduce federal social services.
Polls show that their unfavorability ratings are the highest ever.
I would like to see more of them standing up and speaking, right now it just seems like it's too silent, and that worries me, because I want them as a party to stand together and show that this government needs them to stand up against the opposition, because right now, we're in a situation where it appears that there's a group that's trying to actually take down the government, and I need the Democrats to stand up for us, and I really need to see them out there doing that.

Despite the weeks of attacks on the civil service, this was the first demonstration held by the largest union of federal employees, less than one thousand people turned out to march during the protest only scheduled to last during the typical one hour lunch break.
Protesters reported that many workers are scared of appearing to be too pro-union and of demanding too many rights which could lead to them being fired.
Almost 70% of all 2.4 million federal workers are employed by the military or the Justice Department.
More than 80% of the federal budget goes towards the military, debt repayments, and, the few social security programs which aim to keep the seriously ill, the elderly and children, off the streets.
