Islamic Revolution inspired Africa

Iran's Islamic Revolution of 1979 inspired various freedom movements worldwide, including in Africa—a continent that endured centuries of colonialism and continues to grapple with neocolonialism. This revolution, led by Imam Khomeini, symbolized resistance to Western dominance, particularly against the US and Britain.

Its message of self-determination and independence resonated with African nations' struggles against colonial and neocolonial oppression. At the time of the victory of Iran's Islamic Revolution, southern African countries such as South Africa, Namibia, and Zimbabwe were still fighting for liberation from colonial rule.

The Islamic Republic of Iran played a significant role in supporting the eventual liberation of these nations. The Islamic Revolution continues to influence the broader anti-colonial movement in Africa.
