Israel stalling peace deal

The Hamas movement has warned that Israel is stalling implementation of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, holding the regime fully responsible for any delays in implementing the deal. The movement said the occupying regime continues to prevent the return of displaced people from the southern part of the territory to its north by blocking the al-Rashid road in central Gaza. The regime's forces have been preventing the movement of Palestinians to northern Gaza, accusing Hamas of reneging on its commitment to release an Israeli captive, Arbel Yehud. Israel says its condition for allowing the people to return to the north is confirmation that Yehud is alive. Hamas says it has sent a message through mediators that the Israeli captive is alive, denying any breach of the ceasefire agreement. The movement’s spokesperson, Abdel Latif al-Qanou, also urged the regime to remain committed to the deal regarding the full withdrawal of its forces from Gaza.

Israeli crimes in West Bank

Israeli forces press ahead with their brutal aggression against the occupied West Bank city of Jenin and its refugee camp, killing more Palestinians and destroying infrastructure. According to local sources, a Palestinian toddler was killed by Israeli forces' live fire during their latest attack on a village south of Jenin. Two-and-a-half-year old Layla Mohammad Ayman al-Khatib died of the injury she had sustained earlier after she was shot in the head by the regime’s forces. A Palestinian woman was also injured after being hit in the head by a bullet. In another attack on the Balata refugee camp, east of Nablus, a 42-year-old Palestinian man succumbed to his critical injuries after being shot by Israeli forces. Meanwhile, the resistance fighters continued to engage Israeli forces in Jenin with heavy gunfire and explosive devices. The regime’s army admitted that three of its soldiers have been injured, one critically, in confrontations with Palestinian fighters. According to Palestinian sources, Israel’s military aggression against Jenin has left at least 14 Palestinians dead so far, and forced 1,800 others to leave the refugee camp.

Israel violations in Lebanon

Sunday marks the deadline on which the Israeli army is expected to withdraw from southern Lebanon in line with an agreement signed last November. However, local residents report that in a clear violation of the agreement, the regime’s forces are setting up roadblocks across border towns and roads in a strategic valley in southern Lebanon. The new development came after Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, announced that the regime’s withdrawal from southern Lebanon would extend beyond the deadline. Despite the regime’s move, people in several villages, where Israeli tanks and bulldozers were spotted, have vowed to defend their land. Under the agreement, which went into effect on November 27, Israel was given sixty days to withdraw its forces, allowing the Lebanese army, alongside UN peacekeepers, to move in and secure the area. While Israel claims that the Lebanese side has failed to meet its commitments, Lebanon accuses Israel of obstructing its military from taking control. The Lebanese army has also said in an official statement that the Israeli military is “procrastinating” in its withdrawal from the south.
