Amid an escalation in the Israeli assault on the Palestinian health care system, there has been a call to action from pro-Palestine demonstrators, among them health care workers, outside the British parliament to the MPs inside.
Over 350 of our colleagues are in detention.
They're effectively medical hostages. We want them released. We're absolutely heartbroken.
Everybody should be completely outraged about this.
These are our colleagues, and the British government needs to stop its complicity now.

Those demands have been echoed by some of the MPs who have joined the demonstrators, among them independent Jeremy Corbyn, who criticized the UK's continued arms sales to Israel.
What we've got is Britain taking part with the United States in the supply of weapons to Israel and using the Royal Air Force base of Akrotiri as a staging point for the delivery of these weapons.
It is disgraceful what it is going on. It is genocide that is going on.

In the hell-scape of Gaza hospitals have become a sanctuary for Palestinians against relentless Israeli shelling, but they too have become death traps.
A recent UN report has found Israel conducted more than 136 air raids on some 27 hospitals and 12 medical facilities in the territory over the past eight months.
What's happening in Palestine is genocide. 80% of this country, when polled, wanted a ceasefire.
Our MPs, who are supposed to represent us in government, abstained or voted against a ceasefire.
They do not represent us.
I cannot understand the inhumanity of them.

Despite more than 14 months of such violence live streamed, it is easy for Palestinian suffering to become normalized.
Tonight's demonstration though is a testament to the fact that the opposite is correct.
Last year saw unprecedented public mobilization against the Israeli genocide in Gaza and the UK government's enabling of it.
The current demonstration is a strong show of force to the MPs inside Parliament that the UK public will not stand by while the government fails to uphold its moral and international obligations.
