Israel's attacks across the Gaza Strip have killed nearly 40 Palestinians, including women and children, as the regime targeted civilian areas over the last 24 hours.
The Israeli military launched multiple airstrikes on Monday evening, in various locations, including the central Gaza Strip, Nuseirat, and the Jabalia refugee camp, as reported by Gaza’s Health Ministry.
Reports indicate that at least 20 civilians were killed and many others injured in the strikes targeting homes in Izbat Beit Hanoun, located in the northern region of Gaza.
Local sources revealed that the area remains heavily besieged by Israeli forces, who have severely hindered access for ambulance and rescue teams attempting to reach the site of the airstrikes.
Moreover, Israeli aircraft targeted refugee camps in al-Maghazi and Nuseirat, with reports saying residential buildings were destroyed in the northern Nuseirat area, as at least 7 Palestinians were killed and a number of others were injured as a result.
Earlier in the day, six civilians were confirmed dead and several others injured due to shelling in Beit Lahia, also in northern Gaza.
A civilian was killed due to an Israeli drone strike east of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip, while two children were also killed and many others injured in an Israeli assault on the al-Maghazi camp.
Furthermore, an Israeli attack on a school providing refuge for displaced persons in Jabalia led to further civilian casualties.
Airstrikes targeting children in a residential area in Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza have resulted in additional casualties and injuries, according to local reports.
This is while Gaza’s Health Ministry reported on Monday that Israeli forces had carried out three "massacres" in the territory the previous day, resulting in the deaths of 50 individuals and injuries to 84 others.
Since the onset of war on October 7, 2023, the ongoing acts of aggression by Israeli forces have killed at least 44,758 individuals and injured 106,134 others across the Gaza Strip.
Thousands remain unaccounted for, potentially trapped under rubble or lost on the streets, complicating rescue efforts amid the relentless bombardment and extensive debris.
The humanitarian crisis in Gaza worsens as nearly the entire population of 2.3 million is now displaced, with many seeking refuge in tents amid severe winter conditions.
Compounding the distress, a fuel shortage, unreliable communication and internet access, along with a significant lack of humanitarian assistance, all raise alarm over the dire situation for civilians in the region.
