The Israeli regime has violated the ceasefire agreement with Lebanon 12 more times, by carrying out various forms of aggression across the Arab country, including dozens of airstrikes and firing on civilians.
The Israeli army on Wednesday committed 12 additional violations of the ceasefire agreement with Lebanon that was established last week, according to Lebanon's official National News Agency.
These violations were recorded in the districts of Tyre, Marjayoun, and Bent Jbeil in southern Lebanon, as well as in Beirut. The incidents included the destruction of homes, artillery shelling, low-flying warplane over flights, gunfire, and incursions into Lebanese territory.
Notably, an Israeli drone targeted a vehicle in the town of Majdalzoun in Tyre district, while Israeli artillery shelled the Marjayoun Plain at least three times over the past day.
Gunfire from Israeli positions also struck neighborhoods in the town of Bent Jbeil, and homes were reportedly destroyed in Khiyam. Additionally, artillery shells were fired at Kfarkela.
Israeli warplanes were seen flying at low altitudes over Beirut and southern regions, raising concerns among local residents.
Since the ceasefire was implemented on November 27, Lebanon has documented a total of 129 violations, amid hopes of an end to the 14 months of aggression by Israel.
According to Lebanon’s Health Ministry data, Israeli attacks have killed at least 14 people and left 13 others wounded since the agreement was implemented.
The ceasefire stipulates that Israeli forces are to gradually withdraw south of the Blue Line, , a temporary line drawn after the withdrawal of Israel from the country’s territory in 2000, while the Lebanese army is expected to deploy its troops in southern Lebanon within a maximum of 60 days.
However, Israel has not yet withdrawn completely from southern Lebanese towns, warning residents against returning home amid ongoing air raids, drone strikes, and artillery bombardments, which have resulted in dozens of shells fired and multiple detonation operations, averaging three to four incidents each day.
Lebanese media outlets have also reported that the Israeli military is using the truce to advance into new neighborhoods in towns it had entered during the war.
The regime claims its attacks target the positions and military equipment of the Hezbollah resistance movement.
Hezbollah, in response to Israel’s "repeated violations" of the ceasefire, carried out a "defensive warning" strike on Monday, targeting the Rwaisat al-Alam site, an Israeli military position in the occupied Lebanese hills of Kfarchouba.
The occupying regime was forced to accept the truce with Hezbollah after suffering heavy losses on the battleground and failing to achieve its goals in its aggression on Lebanon.
Lebanese health authorities report that since October 2023, over 4,000 people have died and more than 16,500 been injured due to Israeli attacks, with over 1 million others displaced.
