Palestinians have been at the forefront of resisting Zionist-dominated Western ambitions to destabilize or dominate countries in the region, says a writer and activist.
In an interview with the Press TV website, Susan Abulhawa, a Palestinian-American author and human rights advocate, stated that the United States and the Israeli regime are intent on dominating and exploiting the world.
"The US and Israel want to continue dominating, looting, and exploiting the rest of the world to consolidate more power and wealth because nothing is ever enough for them," she stated.
Abulhawa, whose parents were Palestinian refugees of the 1967 war, said that Palestinians have "stood on the front lines against the last vestiges of Western settler-colonial imperialism."
"Palestinians have been on the front lines against Zionist-dominated Western ambitions to topple or subdue all countries in our (West Asia) region," she asserted.
Since October 7, 2023, more than 44,600 Palestinians—most of them women and children—have been killed in the besieged Gaza Strip by the Israeli regime using weapons supplied by Washington and other Western allies.
This ongoing genocide, now in its 425th day, has spawned the worst humanitarian crisis in the blockaded coastal territory, displacing the entire population of over 2 million.
"We, nearly alone, have been the first line of defense against their (US and Israel) expansionist imperial designs throughout the region and the world," Abulhawa stated.
Gaza health authorities say Israel’s military has "erased” over 1,400 Palestinian families in the besieged territory over the past year.

"One day, the world will come to understand this, and history will acknowledge the extraordinary price we were made to pay."
Addressing why the world remains indifferent to the plight of Palestinians while shedding tears for Ukrainians, Abulhawa said Palestinian lives may not matter to Westerners, but they do matter to "most of the global majority."
"It's not that they value Ukrainian lives over ours. I don't think they care about Ukrainians either. In fact, they're literally sending Ukrainians to die in an unnecessary war because of their geopolitical interests," the activist told the Press TV website.
Abulhawa also commented on the political transition in the United States and the potential return of Donald Trump to the White House, stating that she does not "expect anything different" from what has been witnessed under Joe Biden.
"No American administration has ever been kind to us. I don't expect anything different. I also don't look to world leaders for our salvation, which can only come from the mobilization of the global moral majority around existing Palestinian resistance," she noted.
Abulhawa runs the non-profit organization Playground for Palestine, which has been dedicated for years to building playgrounds for children in Palestine and in UN refugee camps in Lebanon.

Most of these playgrounds, however, have been destroyed in Israeli bombings since October 2023.
"We have diverted all of our resources to Gaza. We were on the ground early on, providing supplies, food, shelter, medicine, and more for families," the author of Mornings in Jenin told the Press TV website.
"Our efforts now have been consolidated into supporting a school we established for elementary students. You can see more on our social media, especially Instagram @playgroundsforpalestine."
Abulhawa recently participated in a historic Oxford Union debate titled “This House Believes Israel is an Apartheid State Responsible for Genocide,” in which her side won decisively.
The debate followed the issuance of arrest warrants by the International Criminal Court (ICC) against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former military affairs minister Yoav Gallant.
Abulhawa told the Press TV website that she feels "privileged" to be in this position wherein she can articulate the concerns of Palestinians in large forums.
"I'm not the voice of Palestinians. I am one voice, but I know my words reflect our collective pain, trauma, resolve, and defiance, as well as our enduring love for our land, our ancestors, our heritage, and each other."
