Lebanon’s Hezbollah says the resistance movement had targeted the residence of a top-ranking Israeli military official in Tel Aviv last weekend but the attack was subjected to strict censorship by the occupying regime.
Hezbollah said in a statement that the dwelling of Israeli air force commander Major General Tomer Bar had been struck by a “squadron of advanced attack drones” on November 18.
“The Islamic Resistance Operations Room announces that one of the sensitive military targets struck on November 18, 2024, in the city of Tel Aviv was the residence of the Israeli Air Force Commander, Major General Tomer Bar,” the statement said.
“The attack was carried out using a squadron of advanced attack drones, achieving its objectives with precision,” the resistance group added. “This incident has been subjected to strict censorship by the Israeli military authorities.”
Since the Israeli regime launched its merciless onslaught on the besieged Gaza Strip and southern Lebanon in October 2023, the occupation has staved off the disclosure of its real extent of fatalities and damage inflicted by the resistance front.
Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth revealed on Tuesday that Hezbollah had inflicted considerable damage on settlements, military bases and infrastructure in the northern part of the occupied territories since October 2023.
"A disturbing partial image emerges that indicates destruction and damage to approximately 9,000 buildings and over 7,000 vehicles that were damaged mainly by Hezbollah fire," the paper said, citing property tax data obtained by Hebrew outlets.
The report said the northern settlements and cities of Kiryat Shmona, Manara, Shtula, Zarit, Nahariya, and Shlomi had sustained the highest level of damage, adding that the real scale of destruction has been “shrouded in a heavy fog.”
Over the past two months, the Israeli occupation army launched unprecedented air attacks on Lebanon in a dangerous escalation with Hezbollah resistance movement.
In recent weeks, Israel mounted its bloody aerial assaults on Lebanon, causing the displacement of at least 1.3 million people, more than a fifth of the country’s population.
At least 3,768 people have been killed and 15,699 others injured in Israeli air raids on Lebanon since early October 2023, according to Lebanon’s Public Health Ministry.
In yet another humiliating defeat for the illegal entity, the regime was forced on Tuesday to acquiesce to a ceasefire deal proposal put forward by the United States and France as the Lebanese resistance movement had vowed to forge ahead with its heavy strikes on the occupied territories until Israel stopped its aggression on the Arab country.
