North Korea-Russia alliance causes South Korea-US alarm

The US and South Korea have conducted a joint military exercise on Wednesday amid escalating tensions with Democratic People's Republic of Korea following reports that Pyongyang has sent troops to Russia.

Meanwhile South Korean President Yoon Suk-Yeol says the country may provide weapons to Ukraine. However Progressive politicians and civil society groups oppose such military aid for Ukraine, which they say could draw South Korea into a foreign war.
