Two days after several explosions rocked the northern neighborhood of Wazir Akbar Khan in the Afghan capital Kabul, the US claims the CIA successfully targeted a safehouse there, killing al-Qaeda leader, Ayman AL-Zawahiri. The pressure is again on people as unfortunately, it has become very common to wake up to the sound of explosions every morning.

At first, the Taliban claimed that the explosions were caused by blind rockets. Now that the drone strike has been confirmed, the Taliban condemn it and consider it a violation of Afghan sovereignty and the Doha agreement signed between them and the US. They also stress that the targeted house was empty during the raid and that there were no casualties.

The recent airstrike in Kabul has now stoked fears among people. They are scared that such incidents might happen more and more frequently as they witnessed 10 members of a family including six children were targeted a year ago in a drone strike before the withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan.

The Afghan people are most shocked by what happened. They say their land has become a hotspot for settling international accounts they have nothing to do with but as always they have to bear the brunt of such incidents.
