Trump's ex-communications director warns of a ‘nightmare scenario’ if he wins a second term

Former US President Donald Trump speaks to supporters during a rally at the Iowa State Fairgrounds on October 9, 2021, in Des Moines, Iowa.

An ex-White House official who served under former US President Donald Trump has warned of a "nightmare scenario" if Trump wins a second term.

Alyssa Farah, who served as the White House's director of strategic communications and assistant to the president in 2020, said in a recent interview with CNN that Trump would "absolutely" impose some form of autocracy if he became the US president in 2024.

"There's very much a scenario where Donald Trump could be president again and this is a man who has challenged our institutions near to the breaking point," she said.

She added that Trump's second term would be "very different," and added that is what "scares" her the most.

"There were things that he wanted to do when he was in power the first time that was well beyond the scope of what the US president should be able to do, but oftentimes it was simply the motivation of hoping to win reelection that kept him from doing things," she said.

She went on to claim that Trump may weaponize the Justice Department against political opponents, and go after the free press, and even use the military for political reasons.

Trump, who believes that the election was rigged by the Washington establishment in favor of Joe Biden, has said that only a doctor's call could prevent him from participating in the 2024 presidential race.

In a recent interview with Real America's Voice, the 75-year-old businessman pointed out that only "a bad call from a doctor or something" could stop him from running.

"Things happen. Through God, they happen," said the Republican former president who lost to Democratic Joe Biden in the disputed 2020 US presidential election. "But I feel so good," he added.

Trump has said that the 2020 election was “the greatest Election Hoax in history.”
