Palestinians in the Gaza Strip have marked the 45th anniversary of Land Day. The occasion marks the deaths of six Palestinians at the hands of Israeli forces during mass protests in 1976.
Along with a series of events held by Palestinians in the Gaza strip to mark the Land Day, Palestinian students and youths community also organized a conference. Students, residents, activists and resistance leaders attended the conference which was held in connection with several countries around the world to support the Palestinian cause.
On the eastern parts of the enclave near the separation fence, Palestinians also held an event stressing on their right of return to their occupied lands. They also expressed their refusal for the recent normalization of ties with Israel and considered it as a stab in the back of the Palestinian cause.
Land Day is marked every year by Palestinians since March 30, 1976, to honor those who fell while defending their lands from being illegally seized by the Israeli government when Israel declared its intention to annex approximately 5,000 acres of land from its Palestinian owners in several villages.
Land Day comes as Palestinians call on the international community to stop the Israeli expansionism and land grab, vowing to keep fighting until liberating all of Palestine and its capital Jerusalem al-Quds.
