Iran has held a national exhibition to showcase its latest scientific and technological achievements on the occasion of the 42nd victory anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.
In this exhibition, 160 projects on such fields as healthcare, agriculture, defense, electronics, oil and nonmaterial were unveiled. 90 percent of the proposed projects have reached production phase.
Iran is a leading country in the region in terms of global innovation. According to the Global Innovation Index 2020 report Iran is placed 26th worldwide for the share of its hi-tech industries in the national production, surpassing the regional countries such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Turkey.
According to the Scopus International Citation Database the rate of scientific contributions of Iranian researchers to the world increased from 17 percent in 2011 to 31 percent in 2020, becoming the world’s leading country in science diplomacy with 14 percent growth.
In the past 42 years Iran has reached self-sufficiency in many fields including science and technology and has become one of the leading countries in scientific achievements in the world.
