US House Representative Tulsi Gabbard has decried the lawmakers’ “hypocrisy” in the new rules banning gendered words such as mother, father, brother and sister.
The outspoken Democrat from Hawaii appeared on Fox News, which is close to Republicans, to censure the latest code of conduct passed by the Democratic-controlled House of Representatives.
"It's the height of hypocrisy for people who claim to be the champions of rights for women to deny the very biological existence of women," Gabbard said.

Some GOP lawmakers such as House minority leader Kevin McCarthy from California also objected to the liberal agenda to promote political correctness.
“This is stupid. Signed… A father, son, and brother,” McCarthy said on Twitter.
The new rules imposed on the language lawmakers must use show how out of touch the nations’ lawmakers are with reality and the priorities the country is facing during the Covid-19 pandemic, Gabbard further suggested.
"Their first act as this new Congress could have been to make sure elderly Americans are able to get the Covid vaccine now alongside front-line health care workers," she said. "Instead of doing something that could actually help save people's lives, they are choosing instead to say 'You can't say mother or father.'"
The banned words include ‘‘father, mother, son, daughter, brother, sister, uncle, aunt, nephew, niece, husband, wife, father-in-law, mother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, stepfather, step-mother, stepson, stepdaughter, stepbrother, step-sister, half brother, half sister, grandson, or grand-daughter.’’
The words that must be used instead are "parent, child, sibling, parent’s sibling, first cousin, sibling’s child, spouse, parent-in-law, child-in-law, sibling-in-law, stepparent, step-child, step-sibling, half-sibling, or grandchild.’’
