Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani handed three-match ban over social media post

Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani has been given a three-match ban from the Football Association, for a social media post containing an insensitive racial term.

The 33-year-old Uruguayan used the Spanish word "Negrito" in an Instagram post last month after scoring the winner against Southampton on Nov. 29, before taking it down and apologizing.

Nevertheless, the FA has now banned the striker from three matches, including Friday’s Premier League fixture against Aston Villa, the League Cup semi-final against Manchester City and the FA Cup match against Watford.

He has also been fined 100,000 Pounds and ordered to complete face-to-face education program.
