Democrats are trying to shut down US economy by taking advantage of the coronavirus pandemic, says an American political commentator.
Former US Senate candidate Mark Dankof made the comments in an interview with Press TV on Wednesday about election fraud and the role mail-in ballots may play in the 2020 presidential election.
"Covid-19 has been used by the Democratic Party to shut the economy down, to attempt to tank the stock market, and to attempt to get to Trump in that way when the Russia gate and Ukraine gate investigations failed to stick," he said.
Democrats, who are hoping to prevent US President Donald Trump from reelection through nomination of former Vice President Joe Biden, are accusing the White House of cracking down on mail-in ballot votes to suppress the turnout in his favor.
Yet, Dankof asserted that,"this mail-in ballot situation is being used to steal the election for Biden," citing American economist Paul Craig Roberts.
He further suggested that with less than two months less than two months than the election, the situation for both conservatives and liberals is "destabilizing."
"It's a very destabilizing situation whatever one's political views," Dankof said.
America has been gripped with unprecedented divide amid protests against racial injustice and police brutality in the run-up to the November 3 election.
