India erasing Muslim heritage

Muslim women leave a polling station after casting their votes in 2019 elections in Khatauli, Uttar Pradesh, India. Uttar Pradesh, India's most populous state, is led by a Hindu priest and has banned the consumption of beef and changed some city names to reflect Hindu heritage.

In this episode of “The Subcontinent” we will look into the Indian government’s plan to erase India’s Muslim history and identity through policies such as changing names, rewriting school textbooks and training people to reinterpret Indian history through Hindu lens and as a result reclaimingthe Hindu identity among the Indian people.

And we will also take a look at the battle of India and Pakistan against the recent locust swarm which is said to be the worst seen in three decades.
