Israeli military helicopters have fired rockets at several positions in southern Syria, including Quneitra region, media reports say.

Syria’s official news agency SANA reported early on Friday the Israeli choppers launched several rockets from the occupied Golan Heights, targeting several positions in southern Syria.

The report did not provide further details about the attack.

However, Israeli media quoted Syrian sources as saying that the Israeli choppers had fired “five rockets” at the positions of the Hezbollah resistance group in Syria’s Quneitra.

Both Syrian and Israeli media say the attacks have only caused limited material damage.

Israel frequently attacks military targets inside Syria, especially those of Lebanon’s Hezbollah group which has played a key role in helping the Syrian army in its fight against terrorists.

The Israeli attacks are thus considered an attempt to prop up foreign-backed Takfiri terrorist groups suffering heavy defeats against Syrian government forces.

Damascus has several times complained to the UN about Israel’s illegal strikes on Syria.
