FIFA has confirmed that the Summer transfer window will be moved and contracts ending on the 30th of June will be extended for a short period.
FIFA’s Bureau Council approved the new proposal, after all football's major stakeholders accepted that completing the 2019-20 season by the 30th of June as initially hoped, will not happen.
According to new proposal many player contracts scheduled to expire at the end of June, will automatically extend until whenever the season eventually ends, while the new deals will begin before the 2020-21 season starts. FIFA has also urged clubs to protect as many jobs as possible, including pay cuts and deferrals, and the use of government schemes.
