US President has laid into Fox News in a series of tweets, saying the news network is “loading up with Democrats” and forgetting "the people who got them there."

Trump has also criticized the conservative-leaning network for using what he called “Fake unsourced New York Times as a ‘source’ of information.”

Earlier on Sunday, Trump attacked The New York Times after the paper reported migrant children were being held in appalling conditions in federal detention facilities.

According to The Times, reports of disease, hunger and overcrowding have markedly increased in recent days, but Trump accused the media, and The Times in particular, of "phony and exaggerated accounts" of detention facilities in Clint, Texas.

The New York Times, however, defended its reporting, saying, "The accounts of what happened at Clint and at nearby border facilities are based on dozens of interviews by The New York Times and The El Paso Times of current and former Border Patrol agents and supervisors; lawyers, lawmakers and aides who visited the facility; and an immigrant father whose children were held there."

Severe overcrowding as well as long detention in dirty conditions at many of the facilities have recently captured the US media’s attention.

A group of US lawyers recently visited a Border Patrol station in Clint only to face the horrid realities in treats undocumented migrants.
