Thousands took to the streets of Buenos Aires on Monday (June 3) for the capital’s annual march against gender-based violence.

Thousands of women were joined by men in the peaceful march that looked to call on the government to enact stricter policies to protect women and not allow their attackers to walk free.

Demonstrators used the hashtag #NiUnaMenos, or #NotOneMore (Woman), to promote the movement on social media.

The march went from the Congress building to the Presidential palace on Plaza de Mayo in the heart of downtown Buenos Aires.

A national registry by the Supreme Court says more than 270 women were victims of gender-based violence last year in Argentina.
