Hundreds of far-right supporters gathered in Chemnitz on Thursday to protest the killing of a 35-year-old man the weekend before.

People held banners with anti-migrant slogans urging Chemnitz to "rise up" for the future of their children and warning that the town is becoming an "African enclave".

The demonstration commemorated the 35-year-old victim who was reportedly stabbed early on Sunday at a city festival. Syrian and Iraqi refugees were reportedly arrested in connection with the crime.

Chemnitz has since seen various right-wing demonstrations that will continue until the end of the week.
