1. To outline
Theresa Mays new Brexit strategy, and to discuss it with the general public in the UK.
2. Is Brexit going wrong? British Prime Minister Theresa May thought she had secured cabinet agreement for her Brexit plans aimed at pressing for "a free trade area for goods" with the European Union. She seemed to have healed the splits between ministers and gained support for "a business-friendly" plan. But shortly afterwards, the British Brexit Secretary of State for exiting the European Union, David Davis, resigned, followed by the Foreign Secretary, Boris Johnston.
3. Meanwhile, Brussels has been adding pressure on Theresa May. Senior EU officials have stated the UK cannot change the European Unions founding principles. They dismissed a draft document outlining Britains future relationship with the European Union. They reject the proposal that the UK could stay indefinitely in a single market for goods after Brexit, with Britain setting its own import tariffs and making new free trade deals.
The public have watched on as Ministers argue amongst themselves about what should the arrangements are, and if we should plan for a no deal exit. Talks of a compromise Brexit plan have competed with calls for a hard Brexit. And many who voted to leave have openly expressed anger that the Government could be watering down the United Kingdoms departure from the EU. The publics frustration has added to the pressure on the Prime Minister.
