Turkey to sanction Israel
Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan has announced a plan to impose sanctions on trade with Israel in response to this month’s massacre of dozens of Palestinian protesters in the Gaza Strip. Erdogan says the plan would be in line with a proposal raised by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation which met in Istanbul last week. He also expressed hope that the organization would also take its own measures to boycott Israeli products.
'Italy first'
A political novice is becoming Italy's prime minister. Giuseppe Conte, a law professor at Florence University, but unknown in Italian politics is on the verge of becoming the next leader of Eurozone’s third largest economy. The country has been waiting for a new government since elections in March failed to determine a clear winner. To end the political deadlock, the two populist parties chose Conte as prime minister.
