The Iran men’s national handball team has chalked up a rather easy win at the 18th edition of Asian Men's Handball Championship, routing the Omani squad in its last match at the main round of the tournament.
On Wednesday, the Iranian sportsmen proved their dominance throughout the Group 1 match played at Seo-Suwon Chilbo Gymnasium in Suwon, located about 30 kilometers (19 miles) south of the South Korean capital city of Seoul, and trounced the Omani outfit 40-25.
The result came a day after the Iranian handball squad had suffered a 24-28 loss at the hands of the South Korean team, and failed to book the ticket for the 2019 World Men's Handball Championship.
The 2018 Asian Men's Handball Championship kicked off on January 18, and will run through January 28.
It acts as the Asian qualifying tournament for the 2019 World Men's Handball Championship. For the first time, Australia, New Zealand and Bangladesh have participated in the event.
