Nigeria security forces open fire on supporters of imprisoned Muslim Leader Ibrahim Zakzaky during Abuja protests

Nigerian security forces have opened fire at protesters calling for the release of Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky, the imprisoned leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria. At least one protester was injured and 50 other supporters of the Shia scholar were arrested in Abuja. This is the second day of rallies over reports that Sheikh Zakzaky’s health is deteriorating in jail. Two students were shot dead by security forces during protests in the northern city of Kaduna on Monday.
