Iran national under-16 football team has maintained its fine style at the 2018 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U-16 Championship qualification, and notched up another glorious victory at the sports event.
On Wednesday evening, the Iranian squad trounced the Bhutanese team 6-0 in a Group C match played at the multi-purpose Enghelab Stadium in the Iranian city of Karaj, situated 35 kilometers west of the capital Tehran.
It took Iran only twelve minutes to open the scoring as Alireza Baviyeh fired home.
It was not to be his last as Baviyeh went on to score another goal in the 42nd minute.
Iran's other goals were scored by Ahmad Shari’atzadeh (53rd, 67th, 92nd) and Shervin Rezaei (91st) minute.
Iran is pitted against Afghanistan, Bhutan, Kyrgyzstan and Lebanon in Group C of the 2018 AFC U-16 Championship qualification tournament.
Bahrain is drawn in Group A and has joined Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka and Uzbekistan.
The Maldives, Oman, Syria, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan are in Group B.
Group D consists of India, Iraq, Nepal and Palestine. Bangladesh, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Yemen form Group E.
While Brunei, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, Macau and North Korea shape Group F, Indonesia, Laos, Northern Mariana Islands, Thailand and Timor-Leste are in Group G.
China, Myanmar, the Philippines and South Korea are drawn in Group H. Group I consists of Australia, Cambodia, Mongolia and Vietnam.
Group J has Guam, Japan, Malaysia and Singapore.
