Priests sexual escapades

The Roman Catholic Church, over the past few decades, has been rocked by revelations of widespread sexual abuse of children and women by priests. The latest of such reports surfaced last week in Italy where a priest was suspended from his parish over claims he used internet sites to recruit potential sex partners. Another priest is also facing defrocking as well as judicial proceedings over allegations he had dozens of sex partners. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg for sex scandals that have tarnished the Catholic Church’s reputation worldwide. Last month, an Australian commission on child abuse made shocking revelations after launching a 4 year probe. It found that 7 percent of all Catholic priests in the country were alleged sex abuse perpetrators. The average age of victims was said to have been 10 for girls and 11 for boys.

US troop deployment in Syria

US marines have been deployed in northern Syria as part of a plan whose stated aim is to push back and defeat Daesh Takfiri terrorists in the Syrian city of Raqqa and other parts of Syria as well as the wider region. The US forces have been given heavy artillery. Washington has also deployed thousands of troops to Kuwait where they are supposed to be on standby and be dispatched to Syria or elsewhere in the Middle East, if need be. The US troop deployment in Syria has put Washington in an awkward position as it is an ally of 2 archenemies at the same time: Turkey and Syrian Kurdish fighters who are seen as a potent, vital force against Daesh Takfiri terrorists. Turkey has shown zero tolerance towards any alliance between the Kurdish YPG fighters whom it regards as an offshoot of the PKK militants and any foreign government.

The wild Wilders west?

The Netherlands, a founder member of Benelux, the father of the European Union. A peaceful, serene nation, with traditional customs dating back centuries. From the interwoven canals of Amsterdam, to the luscious tulip fields that dorn the country side, from Europe’s busiest shipping port to the International Court of Justice, the Netherlands flat landscape is well known to many, however, a platinum blonde quiff dominates the landscape, Geert Wilders of the far right nationalist party.
