The Holy Quran constantly urges us to think, ponder, and reflect, especially over God’s creation and the human condition. It also urges us to heed the lessons from the lives of people who have preceded us so that we can take the right course in our own lives.
We all lead such busy lives these days that we hardly get the time to stop and think. But if we don’t take that precious down-time to reflect, we’ll soon find ourselves burned out and losing all perspective on what’s most important in life.
In Islam, God has given us the opportunity to stop and ponder five times a day when we pray. This allows us to center ourselves and focus on worshiping our Creator and beseeching Him to guide and protect us and those closest to us.
So instead of only stopping to center ourselves when we reach burn out point, why not take this opportunity every day so that we never reach that desperate stage in the first place?
