Sloth wanders into Peru neighborhood

The three-toed sloth surprised residents when it wandered into Pucallpa, Peru.

Sloths are critically endangered species mainly because of human threats and predators. So catching them in action is a pretty rare event.

This one was found wandering in the Peruvian town of Pucallpa in the early hours of morning. A shop owner noticed the wild animal hanging around and called the wildlife personnel.

The animals move only when necessary and very slowly. They sleep around 15 to 20 hours a day. They aren’t very sociable and rarely come in contact with humans. And so these locals gathered around to watch the animal and take photos with it.

Eventually, the authorities showed up and took it back to the natural park where he had escaped from.
