Israel has cut off water supplies to many large areas of the occupied West Bank during the holy month of Ramadan.

- The Palestinian Authority has denounced Israel for what it has called manipulating water supplies from major areas of the occupied-West Bank. It also described Israel’s manipulation of water supplies as inhumane and outrageous. Earlier, Israel stopped providing water to the entire governorate of Jenin, several Nablus villages and the city of Salfit.
- The US says three American officials operating in Nicaragua have been expelled. Washington warned that the move could harm ties between the two countries. Nicaragua has said two of the US officials were engaged in some activities without permission from the Nicaragua. The third official was not mentioned in the statement.
- Brazil's tourism minister has resigned amid allegations of involvement in a massive corruption case. Henrique Eduardo Alves said his resignation was an attempt to help focus on defending himself against the accusations. He is the third minister to leave the month-old government of interim President Michel Temer.
- US authorities have issued evacuation orders for some areas as a wildfire is burning out of control near the city of Santa Barbara, California. The blaze has rapidly spread across the region since yesterday. Aircraft are dropping water and fire retardant to slow down the expansion of the fire.
- The Eurozone has approved an $8.4 billion bailout for Greece amid anti-austerity protests in the country. Eurozone finance ministers unblocked the money to enable Athens to pay out its debts. This comes a day after Greeks protested the new spending cuts imposed by the government in return for the bailout.
- Human Rights Watch has called on US President Barack Obama to provide greater accountability for CIA abuses before his term in office ends. The rights group says Obama’s failure to address CIA's newly-exposed crimes will leave a stain on his legacy and undermine respect for the rule of law.
- Iraq's Defense Ministry says army forces have liberated four more areas in Fallujah as they push back Daesh terrorists. Over the past days, the army has slowed down its advances toward the city center to avoid civilian casualties. It comes amid reports that Daesh terrorists are using civilians as human shield.
- A new strike by garbage collectors in Italy has disrupted daily life in major cities. Unions have threatened to stage more industrial action if their demands are not met. The unions are seeking new terms in national contracts for their members, including higher wages.
