One of the biggest anti racism demonstrations this year. Thousands of protesters have made their way through the heart of London to stand up against fascism. Chants could be heard throughout the city in support of all those who are oppressed and victims of any forms of prejudice.
The rally held to coincide with UN anti racism day, starts here close the BBC headquarters. Protesters feel the mainstream media are responsible for stirring up racist and islamophobic sentiment through biased coverage.
The protest was centered around opposing the far right and the increasing level of institutional racism. The emergence of the neo nazi golden dawn in Greece and the rise of the far right racist Pegida movement in Germany has led to outrage among many across Europe.
Protesters were angered at the manner in which immigrants are blamed for the poor economic situation here in the UK. Meanwhile internationally the death of Eric garner in Ferguson sparked riots across America with vigils in solidarity making their way to the UK.
This huge demonstration just over a month before the general election will no doubt send a strong message to all those in power.
