Debate: Obama's State of the Union speech

Yesterday, US President Barack Obama delivered his State of the Union address. Undaunted by the new Republican majority in the Congress, he said a new round of sanctions against Iran would dash any hopes for a diplomatic solution to Iran’s nuclear energy file, while putting the “all options card” on the table, once again.

On the other hand, House speaker John Boehner has invited Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to address the US lawmakers on Iran right after Obama’s speech, but what does that mean exactly?

In this edition of The Debate, we will ask our guests, Seyed Mostafa Khoshcheshm, a political analyst from Tehran, and Michael Lane, the founder of the American Institute for Foreign Policy from Washington, to shed more light on the power struggle on the political scene in the US and the outcome of Washington's policy on Iran’s right to nuclear energy.
