Iran's wartime performance to deter any renewed aggression: Army spokesman

Iran's Army spokesman Brigadier General Mohammad Akraminia

Iran's Army spokesman says the Islamic Republic should defend itself in a way that would deter any renewed aggression against the country in the future.

Brigadier General Mohammad Akraminia made the remarks on Tuesday amid sustained and successful defensive and retaliatory strikes by the country's Armed Forces in the face of ongoing American-Israeli aggression.

"What we seek throughout this war is to create deterrence. We should act in a way that would deter the enemy from letting itself stage another attack against our country in the post-war period," he noted.

"Our deterrence [power] has been enhanced and this has ensured our country's security," the spokesperson said.

Akraminia predicted creation of a "new regional order in the post-war period" that would be devoid of American presence and feature active participation of the countries of the region.

"Iran has, for years, been mentioning such scenario time and again. The countries of the region are our friends."

The official described the nature of the animosity borne by Iran's enemies, including the United States, to be one revolving around the Islamic Republic's independence and strength.

The US only seeks for the Israeli regime to enjoy the self-proclaimed upper hand in the region, he added, noting that Washington has been pursuing the policy for long and has, therefore, been trying to strengthen the regime's security and work towards enabling its so-called superiority.

According to the official, the United States speaks unashamedly about the regime's desire towards implementation of the "Greater Israel" project, an ambition that involves expansion of the Israeli-occupied territories throughout the West Asia region to cover parts of such countries as Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt.

"We have heard Western officials mention this repeatedly. They are after disintegration of the regional countries and this is the issue they are in pursuit of."

Such disintegration schemes fit within the Americans' desire for the Israeli regime's supposed superiority, the spokesman said.

They are, therefore, seeking to destroy the Islamic Republic's political establishment and then cause the country to fall apart as a means of invigorating the regime over all others across the region, he added.

"Iran [, however,] should put up resistance in order to prevent this from happening," Akaraminia stated.

The "American order," built up by Washington through establishment of military outposts across the region throughout five decades, "has fallen apart today," he remarked.

The official hailed the Armed Forces' contribution to the matter through sustained retaliatory strikes against the American outposts, "which has resulted in the destruction of the majority of them."
