Rafah crossing closed

The Israeli regime has once again violated the ceasefire in Gaza, killing more Palestinians across the territory. In southern city of Khan Yunis, a Palestinian succumbed to his wounds sustained in Israeli fire in Qizan al-Najjar, while another civilian was killed in separate drone strike in Ma'an. Heavy gunfire and multiple injuries also reported in other parts of the city. In central Gaza, a Palestinian lost his life in al-Bureij camp. In a further violation of the ceasefire, Israel continues to keep the Rafah crossing closed, severely restricting the entry of essential humanitarian aid into Gaza. Hamas condemned the Israeli restrictions, describing them as serious infringement of the agreement that would further impede rescue and aid efforts. It called on mediators to intervene immediately. The Israeli genocide has killed more than 67, 900 Palestinians since October 2023, leaving nearly 170,170 others injured, most of them women and children.

Sinwar martyrdom anniversary

Hamas has marked the first martyrdom anniversary of Yahya Sinwar, the legendary Palestinian resistance leader, vowing to continue his path until the liberation of Palestine. In a statement, Hamas said the al-Aqsa flood operation, which was led by Sinwar, is seen as a turning point in the fight against the Israeli occupation. Hamas said the movement’s political bureau chief stood firm in the battle against Israel and defied occupation forces with unwavering resolve and sacrifice. It described the martyrdom of Yahya Sinwar, along with other leaders, a source of strength and inspiration for the resistance movement, its supporters and the Palestinian people. Hamas vowed to uphold the legacy of the martyred leaders and remain loyal to their sacrifices, stressing that the flames of resistance will never fade. Yahya Sinwar was martyred in an Israeli airstrike in southern Gaza’s Rafah city on October 16. He played a pivotal role in coordinating and supervising the landmark al-Aqsa Flood operation that jolted the Israeli regime.

US-Venezuela escalation

Venezuela has strongly condemned the United States’ warmongering after President Donald Trump confirmed that he authorized the CIA to carry out covert operations in Venezuela. Gil asserted that the involvement of the CIA as well as the US military deployment in the Caribbean are part of a broader strategy to legitimize regime change, ultimately targeting Venezuela’s vast oil reserves. He described the US’s actions as policy of aggression, intimidation, and harassment aimed at destabilizing Venezuela. President Nicolas Maduro also denounced the US president’s remarks, asserting that they reflect the pattern of unsuccessful US military interventions in Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya. He further called for an end to CIA-orchestrated coups. The remarks come after Trump told reporters that he had authorized the CIA to conduct covert operations in Venezuela.
