US-Israeli Gaza genocide
The Gaza Strip witnesses more death and destruction, as Israeli forces continue to pound various areas of the blockaded territory with air and artillery strikes. Gaza City remains the main target of the regime's latest attacks. Gaza’s medical sources reported nearly 25 fatalities in the city in one day. One of the latest strikes targeted Gaza City’s Tel al-Hawa neighborhood, killing six civilians. Casualties were also reported after a drone targeted a group of civilians in the al-Shati refugee camp. Earlier, nine civilians, including four children and three women, were killed in an airstrike on a residential building in central Gaza City. According to medical sources, Gaza City’s al-Rantisi Children's Hospital and the Nasser Eye Hospital have gone out of service due to the ongoing shelling of their surroundings. They added that Israel is deliberately and systematically destroying Gaza’s health care system as part of its genocidal policy. The death toll from the Israeli aggression now exceeds 65,340, with nearly 166,800 others injured.
Gaza ceasefire efforts
A senior official of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad says Israel has not responded to a recent Gaza ceasefire proposal offered by mediators, which has been accepted by the resistance. The deputy secretary general of the Islamic Jihad said Israel and the US were never serious about ceasefire negotiations, and have backed away from proposals presented by the US special envoy. Mohammad al-Hindi stressed that the US and West are not willing to end the war until every group resisting Israel across the region is eliminated. He added that Israel even bombed the Palestinian negotiating team while they were discussing a proposal offered by the US president. He described the current outlook for a truce in Gaza as “blocked,” adding that no new ideas are being offered at this stage. Al-Hindi also referred to the Western countries' recognition of a Palestinian state, describing it as a diplomatic defeat for Israel. He, however, warned that these recognitions mean little if they fail to stop the genocide in Gaza and Israel’s settlement plans in the occupied West Bank.
Iran nuclear program
Iran's foreign minister says Tehran is ready to help find a diplomatic solution to the activation of the so-called snapback mechanism of the 2015 nuclear deal, provided that its interests are protected. Abbas Araqchi said Iran is ready to accept such a diplomatic solution, but it must secure the interests of the Iranian nation and address the country's security concerns. He stressed that the current situation of the 2015 agreement is the result of Washington’s unilateral withdrawal from the deal. Araghchi said if the US had not quit the agreement, Iran was ready to find diplomatic solutions to the existing problems. He emphasized that Iran will resist all pressures, but believes that a diplomatic solution would benefit the entire region, and the international non-proliferation regime. Araghchi also met with the director general of the UN nuclear agency, during which he highlighted Tehran’s responsible approach to Iran's nuclear issue. He told Rafael Grossi that any progress on this issue would depend on responsible behavior of other parties, and not using the UN Security Council to mount pressure on Iran.
