Iran warns enemies
Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps has warned that the country is ready to confront any aggressor and any sinister plan against its security. The IRGC said in a statement that Iran is more determined than ever to confront what it called arrogant-Zionist threat and conspiracy. The statement came a day after the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces also warned that it will no longer exercise restraint in the face of any hostile action against the country. It warned "the criminal and malicious" state of America and the brutal Zionist regime to cease their conspiracies and hostility against the powerful and invincible Iran. The Iranian armed forces said in the event of any miscalculation or hostile act, there would be no repeat of Iran’s restraint that prevented large-scale operations during the 12-day imposed war.
US-Israeli Gaza genocide
The Israeli military continues its deadly campaign in Gaza, with desperate aid seekers increasingly becoming the primary victims of renewed strikes across the besieged strip. Since the early hours of Sunday, at least 11 Palestinians have been killed, including three aid seekers who had gathered in Rafah to get humanitarian assistance. Gaza’s medical authorities say at least 26 aid seekers have been killed in recent attacks. Residential areas remain under relentless bombardment, as Israeli airstrikes persist. On Saturday, seven civilians lost their lives when Israeli drones targeted the vicinity of al-Ma’madani Hospital in Gaza City. The overall death toll from the US- Israeli genocide has now surpassed 61,820, with over 155,275 people injured since October 2023.
Anti-Netanyahu protests
Protesters march across Israel and block major highways to condemn the policy on Gaza and the Israeli captives, as a general strike gets underway in the occupied territories. Nearly a million demonstrators are rallying in central Tel Aviv in addition to areas spanning from Galilee in the north to Eilat in the south. A general strike has also disrupted train services, closed community centers and universities. The participants have joined the protesters. The action is called by the October Council, which represents families of the captives and troopers killed in Gaza. A centerpiece is a rally outside the Kirya military headquarters in Tel Aviv. Israel has seen weekly rallies by families of captives to demand an end to the Gaza genocide to pave the way for the release of the captives. This week’s action is also fueled by fears over Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s decision to expand the onslaught on Gaza.
