US-Israeli Gaza genocide
The Israeli military presses ahead with its unrelenting attacks on Gaza, killing more civilians in its latest air and artillery strikes. In one of the latest attacks, at least eight Palestinians were killed, and several others injured in an Israeli drone strike on tents of displaced Palestinians west of Khan Yunis, in southern Gaza. Elsewhere in Gaza, four Palestinians lost their lives and nearly two dozen others were wounded after an airstrike targeted a tent, sheltering displaced Gazans in the central city of Deir al-Balah. To the north, a similar strike targeting tents of displaced people left several fatalities. Meanwhile, a number of Palestinians succumbed to their wounds sustained in earlier Israeli attacks a few days ago. According to the Gaza health ministry, over 52,800 Palestinians have been killed in the Israeli genocide, which has left nearly 119,500 others injured. The death toll includes more than 2,700 civilians killed since the resumption of Israel’s onslaught in March.
Gaza humanitarian crisis
Palestinian officials have raised serious alarm about the current situation of water supply in Gaza, amid Israel’s total blockade on the territory. The Palestinian Water Authority said over two million people in Gaza are "dying of thirst," as they are deprived of access to the minimum amount of water required for survival. According to the agency, water extraction in Gaza has declined by 70 to 80 percent since the beginning of the ongoing genocide. The current water consumption has also dropped to an alarming three to five liters per person per day, which is far below the World Health Organization’s emergency minimum of fifteen liters. The authority stressed that Israel is committing a grave and systematic war crime by using thirst and starvation as tools of genocide in Gaza. It added that without clean water, many Gazans use water from agricultural wells, leading to the spread of waterborne diseases. It called on the international community to take urgent and decisive action to stop Israel’s “deliberate and systematic campaign to exterminate the civilian population of Gaza through thirst, hunger, and disease.”
Rejecting anti-Iran claims
Iran has strongly rejected Western media allegations about sending missile launchers to Russia, calling them ridiculous. The remark was made by Iran's Permanent Mission to the United Nations in response to a Reuters report. Quoting anonymous Western officials, the report claimed that Iran is to deliver launchers for short-range Fat'h ballistic missiles to Russia to be used against Ukraine. Reacting to the report, Iran's mission said the allegation was "utterly absurd." The mission also expressed regret that Reuters persists in its habit of circulating baseless accusations against Iran. The Iranian mission stressed that as long as the conflict continues between Russia and Ukraine, Iran will abstain from providing any form of military assistance to either side.
