The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has awarded Iran for the “development of women's sports.”
On Sunday, President of the International Paralympic Committee Andrew Parsons congratulated the National Paralympic Committee of Iran on its selection as the “2025 Distinguished Member of Women’s Sport Development.”
“The National Paralympic Committee of Iran has shown that the path of development is without borders and limitations and that there is no impossible in the Paralympic Movement, and this is the main key to achieving equal opportunities and an inclusive future,” Parsons said in his assessment of the selection of the winners of the 8th of March 2025 Award.
“Change starts with sport. We believe that sport has the power to break down barriers and create equal opportunities for all people through the creation of inclusive societies,” he stated.
“Regardless of the apparent abilities of individuals, through sport we respect their strength, resilience and true potential and value the rights of all people to participate in sport, shine and inspire,” he added.
International Women’s Day Award for Iran was introduced by the International Paralympic Committee as the “2025 Distinguished Member in the Development of Women’s Sport” category.
Zahra Nemati, of Iran’s honored Paralympic and World Archer, previously had received this award from the International Paralympic Committee as the Distinguished Athlete of the Young Generation in 2021.
