Activists protest BBC pro-Israel bias in reporting Gaza genocide

Under cover of darkness, members of Palestine Action targeted BBC headquarters in the heart of London, spray painting slogans on the building, in an attempt to draw attention to what they call the broadcaster's ongoing complicity in the Israeli genocide of Palestinians.

The paint is being washed away but what cannot be washed away is the stain that will forever besmirch the BBC's reputation.

It is an institution that touts itself as the legitimate and credible purveyor of the truth, but its lopsided coverage of the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza has cast that reputation into serious doubt.

The BBC's own staff, more than 100 of them, wrote a letter to senior management last year accusing the broadcaster of bias, censorship, and, downplaying Palestinian suffering while glossing over Israeli atrocities.

It is getting worse. The Zionist infiltration of the BBC is making it worse.

And of course, we saw with Owen Jones's famous piece just a few weeks ago that there's a guy inside the BBC, Raffi Berg, who acts as a kind of Zionist filter.

Everyone has to go to him to check the stories out, and nothing gets through without it being filtered in the Zionist interest.

It's a reality that's perpetually been highlighted by Palestinian rights activists for decades. One memorable example is from 2009 when the late Labour MP Tony Benn accused the BBC of a betrayal of its public service obligations by banning itself from airing a humanitarian appeal for the people of Gaza.

People will die because of the BBC decision. Let me be clear about that, and I started my life sixty years ago as a BBC producer. I love the BBC and support it, but it is capitulated to Israeli pressure. That's the truth I have to tell you.

Tony Ben, Late Labour MP

And it is the truth that's at stake, with its credibility taking a huge blow and mounting evidence of compromised impartiality, the question many are asking now is whether the BBC can actually be trusted anymore?
