Israel's Gaza genocide
A new investigation shows that dozens of Palestinian workers from Gaza have been tortured to death or disappeared in Israel’s detention centers following the onset of Israel’s war on the Palestinian territory in October 2023. The Arab Workers Union, which has carried out the investigation, says the Israeli prison service has confirmed the deaths of 34 workers in its prisons. It says the workers were subjected to brutal beatings, stripping and other methods of torture. Back in November 2023, Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor, also revealed that thousands of laborers from Gaza were subjected to horrific forms of torture by the Israeli forces. Before October 2023, around 18,000 Palestinians from the Gaza Strip were working in the occupied territories. However, their work permits were revoked after the Hamas operation.
Israeli crimes in West Bank
Israeli forces and armed settlers are continuing their crimes against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank. The regime’s forces abducted at least eight young men during a raid on al-Far’a refugee camp in the northern Tubas Governorate. A young Palestinian was also detained as he passed through an Israeli military checkpoint near the eastern city of Ariha. Israeli troops further blocked Palestinian vehicles and disrupted their movement in the northern city of Jenin. This is the 19th straight day of Israeli aggression against the city, resulting in the killing of at least 25 Palestinians. Meanwhile, a group of Israeli settlers stormed the home of a Palestinian near the northern village of al-Aqaba and physically assaulted him.
'No talks under pressure'
Iran’s foreign minister has rejected the possibility of holding talks with the US under its maximum pressure campaign. Abbas Araghchi says the 2015 nuclear deal proved the US does not respect its obligations, stressing that Tehran will not allow Washington to repeat that. Stressing that Iran has never abandoned the negotiating table, Araghchi says any talks must be held with prudence. The top diplomat says, however, that Iran does not want talks with a country that, at the same time, imposes new sanctions against it. Araghchi is calling for tolerance and more work inside the country to offset the US-imposed sanctions.
