Yemen’s National Salvation Government has warned the United States and the Israeli regime over the dire consequences of continuing their deadly aggression against the Arab nation.
“The Yemeni people are eager to engage in conflict with the nation’s enemies, and have been shouting the ‘death to Israel’ slogan for the past 20 years, besides confronting the equipment that would be deployed by the US and the regime against it,” Zaid al-Gharsi, director of the Media and Cultural Affairs Department in Yemen’s National Salvation Government, said on Friday.
“However, the people has entered direct confrontation against its adversaries today, and we tell this to them that they are welcome to [their] great hell.”
The remarks came amid intensified fatal attacks by Washington and Tel Aviv against Yemen, which began last October, when the nation launched its operations against Israeli targets in support of the Gaza Strip and Lebanon, which have respectively come under a war of genocide and escalated deadly assaults by the Israeli regime.
The Yemeni Armed Forces have been responding by ramping up their strikes against strategic and sensitive Israeli and American targets, including the US warships and aircraft carriers that are deployed off Yemen’s coastline.
Gharsi said the US and the Israeli regime’s escalation against Yemen was aimed at trying to stop its pro-Palestinian operations, warning that the country would not stop short of supporting Palestine even if the confrontation were to increase in scale.
“If the enemy thinks that it would stop Yemen by targeting its infrastructures, we say this to them that it is suffering from an illusion,” the official noted.
“We say this because we knew prior to beginning of our support for Gaza that there was going to be a reaction on the part of the US and the Israeli regime,” he said.
“Therefore, we are in a state of readiness, and have prepared ourselves for all possible scenarios.”
'Disgraceful defeat'
Gharsi considered the enemies’ strikes against Yemen’s infrastructures as an indication of their weakness, noting how they had fallen short of stopping his country’s military capabilities.
“This alone serves as an instance of ignominious defeat for them.”
The official, meanwhile, addressed the Israeli regime’s threats of deploying mercenaries against his country.
“The futility of potential recourse to such instruments have already been proven. They (the enemies) united against Yemen for nine years, but failed.”
He cited the case of the enemies’ forming an aggressive coalition following the launch of the Palestinian resistance fighters’ and their supporters’ al-Aqsa Storm Operation against the occupied Palestinian territories.
'Undefeatable Yemen'
According to Gharsi, the coalition was defeated, resulting in withdrawal of the American aircraft carriers from the region.
The official defined the failure as the biggest to have been suffered by the vessels since World War II.
He cautioned the Israeli regime that “you are facing a nation that believes in God and his succor, and carries the culture of the Holy Qur’an,” calling the Yemeni people “undefeatable,” and saying the nation had incurred such rage and resentment vis-à-vis its enemies that would “turn them into ashes” even if it were to confront them with bare hands.
