The Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah has strongly condemned Israel’s occupation of Syrian soil and destruction of its military capabilities as a dangerous act of aggression.
The resistance movement said on Tuesday the UN Security Council, the international community, and Arab and Islamic nations are responsible for ending the regime’s aggression and protecting the Syrian people.
Hezbollah said the crimes committed by the Israeli enemy on Syrian territory "exacerbate the destabilization of this brotherly nation."
“This aggressive occupation of Syrian lands coincides with the ongoing Zionist military aggression against Lebanon, its daily violations, and its assaults on Gaza. These interconnected threats place the region’s peoples in imminent danger, underscoring the unity of their struggle and the necessity of rejecting and confronting this aggression,” it stated.
Hezbollah said it has repeatedly warned against Israel's ambitions across the region and has put up stiff resistance to prevent the regime from achieving its goals.
It added that the silence of Arab and Islamic nations and the international community has emboldened the regime to ratchet up its offenses against regional countries with unlimited US support.
The group stressed that all necessary steps must be taken to prevent Israel from achieving its goals. Hezbollah also emphasized that only the Syrian people can set the country’s political course independent of any external influences and pressures.
The Israeli military said in a statement Tuesday that it carried out about 480 strikes over the past 48 hours on strategic military targets in Syria.
The regime’s military claimed that it struck facilities and that it struck most of the strategic weapons stockpiles in Syria.
The military said the targets included 15 naval vessels, anti-aircraft batteries and weapons production sites in several cities.
Also, reports suggest that weapons depots, navy vessels and a research center have been destroyed.
In Latakia, a navy vessel equipped with machine guns and rocket launchers was seen half sunken in the water.
Israel has also sent troops into a buffer zone east of the occupied Golan Heights. Still, the regime denies advancing towards Damascus, insisting that its forces were stationed within the zone.
Hundreds of Israeli strikes have been reported since the fall of President Bashar al-Assad's government in Syria.
As part of the wave of strikes, Israeli war minister Israel Katz said Israeli missile ships had destroyed the Syrian military fleet in an operation on Monday.
Condemnations are pouring in from across the world over the Israeli violation of Syria’s sovereignty.
